SPB widgets to customize layout to match Hero/Eris

Hey guys,

I have BW's WM 6.5 with SPB MS3 ROM, and i would really like to have the same layout as the Hero/Eris. I've downloaded the ultimate widget pack that's on BW's thread, but that's not enough.

Can you guys help me out? I've searched the web all over and installed/uninstalled countless of times. All i want is couple wallpapers, the clock with the background, maybe the bottom graphic and the weather icons.

Thanks.

Have you tried that HTC Hero skin(?) pack for SPB MS3?? argh, i forgot what it was called but it adds new widgets to MS3 that looks alot like the hero icons. Theres even the clock with the background. Perhaps the ultimate widget pack you were talking about in BW's thread is that, but I'm not sure (havnt checked it out ;))

Another alternative to try is blueocean's (i sure hope i got the name right) mod of pointui. It transforms pointui to make it look like the HTC Hero, and does a pretty good job at it too!

Both of these are around the forum and i'll try to post a link up to them when I get the chance. Sorry I couldnt be more helpful, and possibly use the right terms ;)

Hope it works out!

hey man,

did you mean this skin?

I tried it but i don't like the whole windows interface change. i'm using blazingwolf's and i like it. Below is that my phone looks like now. I just want those cool Hero Widgets so i could customize it without revamping my whole layout. Let me know if you find those links.

Just an interesting comment: Don't be surprised if HTC comes after SPB or anyone else that's offering a Hero or Eris-styled skin -- especially if it has the big flip clock with integrated weather icon in the center. They've apparently trademarked it, and have suddenly decided to stop anyone else from using it. I have a Droid now, and news in the Android forums is that HTC just delivered a "cease and desist" order to a tiny developer called "Beautiful Widgets" that was offering a flip clock widget that's almost identical (by design) to the HTC Hero. He had to immediately pull it from the market and completely redesign it so it no longer looks anything like the Hero/Eris. HTC definitely didn't make any friends doing this, because that widget was extremely popular. Will be interesting to see if they start coming after people in the WM world as they are in the Android market...

I've found the pointu mod http://www.40tech.com/2009/09/06/be-a-htc-...ith-pointsense/

But, i currently use SPB3, does that mean i'll have to switch interfaces? Is there a way to use blueocean's widgets with SPB?

No... it's an entirely different UI. I recommend switching from SPB to PointSense... it's simply amazing, although it seems that blueocean has (at least for now) stopped developing PointSense any further.

sorry for the late reply, was quite busy these few days. I managed to dig up the SPB MS pointsense theme: http://www.mobilecustom.fr/forum/index.php/topic,2398.0.html

You have to register for the website, but its quick and easy, and safe too. The instructions are in french, but it's quite easy to decipher using translators like babelfish. What that does is simply change the look of SPB MS and add a tonne of widgets that look like the HTC pointsense interface.

The pointUI version of pointsense looks much better, but it requires you to use pointUI. But if you want to use SPB MS, then the theme i mentioned aint a bad choice.

:)
