m2d and google

I dont have google maps and when i search on the maps tab of m2d V2 nothing happens, (because i dont have it) When i download google maps where do i install it so when i search on the maps tab it will search

All kinds of reports of latest google maps 3.3 something being crap, would suggest going with earlier version 3.2
