Verizon ROM very buggy -- need new ROM advise

I've been battling with Verizon's official ROM and have given up. Please advise me of the best ROM i should use with my Omnia. I don't know what version my phone is, it doesn't say.

Some problems with current version:

- camera bottn randomly activates itself at times

- windows explorer stops reacting to tapping on a folder/file and just highlights them

- random freezing

- pointer issues

I would start with a naked or lite WM6.5 ROM and add what you use. There are a few good ones here by Lioryte, Storm or Necosino. I have had good luck with all of them.

The benefit with a lite or naked ROM is you can add one thing at a time until you like it and it is still stable.

You do need to figure out what ROM you are on since they are all based on CF03 which is the latest from Samsung/VZW. Look in Settings > System > About and/or Version. If you are not on CF03 you can get the installer from VZW.

I assume you are familiar with it and have first hand knowledge of it's functionality :)

Thanks guys. ive installed verizons base and then one of the 6.5 ROMs but the camera still turns on by itself!! What do i do??

I think you have ruled out software so it sounds like you have a bad contact or a stuck button. You can press it hard a few times and try to pry it out gently but you may end up at the store replacing it.

Also sometimes when i use windows explorer tapping a folder/file will just highlight it and nothing more. I've tried it with Verizon bas and a bunch of cooked roms. Could this be a problem with the verizon base? or something else? i dont know what else to do.

I agree with nilse, sounds like your phone is the issue, not the software. I would advise flashing back to verizon official update(ya never know) then having it serviced.
