Guest omniaguy2k9 Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I've posted a version of the latest Bing Mobile beta that will install on any WM 6.X phone. I simply replaced the setup.dll from the original CAB file with the setup.dll from the previous release. You can find it here: http://cid-507a4113ca4f5909.skydrive.live....wse.aspx/Public There are required post-install steps, please read the readme.txt file for instructions. BTW, if you have the time and .NET Reflector, the application architecture is quite impressive. Uses XAML files to lay out the UI, even though the engine is WinForms. If you're building a WiMo app, it's a good design to emulate.

Followed all the steps (installed to device, ran certs) Stopped working after a minute... consistently :)
Guest rtimi28 Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Yes you are right it looks nice but within a minute it tells you that bing hasn't recognized your device and tells you to re-install an older version. Things I liked are the UI and the voice recognition is right on point, but not being able to test further because of the condition above. Please if anyone can have a workaround to fix this. This might have well be the best search app.

Guest brandogg Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 What is the latest version? I'm pretty sure it works on the Omnia by default, but people have just been downloading the wrong one. I tried to to install it, and it said my device was unsupported, so I went back to the Bing mobile site, and there was another link which worked. I'm on version 4.6.9179.1.

Guest .Ejekt Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Any word on if we have it working 100%? Looking forward to an update...
Guest Remy94 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 The Bing app works fine if you get it from the Windows Marketplace app. But there is no way to install it to My Storage or Storage Card.
