Yes, UK I guess a good choice, it replaced my MDA Vario II (==HTC Kaiser) and am quite happy. The price-performance ratio for the Pulse is unsurpassed I believe.

Guest rss2k Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Yes you're right it's the III, before that I had the MDA Vario. Never thought I would leave Windows Mobile, but I'd hate to go back now. Android on Pulse is still a bit rough, the contacts application is horrible, Bluetooth carkit connection has its troubles and the Exchange connection could be better. But I hope Android 2.0 will bring some help in this department. And I also think that support communities like MoDaCo will also help bring Android a very good mobile platform.
Guest rjm2k Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I wouldn't believe too much aof what they said, I chatted to one about a week before the Pulse was released (there had been press releases saying it was coming before this) and was told that they didn't have a phone called Pulse.
Guest Evil Kaz Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Problem with such a broad release date is that 2.0 could be out of date by the time the Pulse gets it. 2.1 source is already floating around.

I'm just hoping that the pulse actually gets 2.0. Having eclair means that we'll get a kernel based on 2.6.29, rather than .27, which means a heck of a lot less work for porting future android versions based on 2.6.29 (which at least flan is).

Yes, UK After not receiving a confirmation email i called t-mobile CS to be told that the Pulse is out of stock - expected between Xmas and New Year. My local shops are also out of stock athough i'd rather get it and have the 7 days to send it back if i'm not happy with it - at that price i am still very suspicious of what i'm buying! :)

Guest Speckles Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I wonder if this 2.0 update (if its ever released) will work on devices with the Modaco ROM and reflashed recovery?
Guest mapero Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Why should it not work? U can always go back to the t-mobile rom.
Guest Speckles Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) Sorry, I'm a newb. I thought I heard somewhere that the Modaco roms disabled updates or something to prevent T-Mobile from removing the root ability. Since the 2.0 is an update, I didn't know whether or not it would be refused by the Modaco rom and you'd need some other program to install it. Edited December 23, 2009 by Speckles

Since the 2.0 is an update, I didn't know whether or not it would be refused by the Modaco rom and you'd need some other program to install it. A new ROM would have to be built that incorporates Android 2.0. If they do release it officially, I'm sure we'll see a new MCR shortly after!
