Hey guys,

A while back I was having problems with my alignment when I installed a new rom, it was way off, and I couldn't get out of the alignment screen, had the loop problem! So I installed a cab file I found that makes the registry changes to make the touch screens alignment perfect. And the cab worked in the sense that it sorted the alignment, but since I did it I have a dead spot in the middle off my screen, it is only noticable when using the keyboard,(around the j and k buttons) it wont respond to key presses, but the screen is ok, because when you let the light dim it will come back on when you press in the "dead spot" but it just wont press the key's I tell it to, if i kind of circle around the key, pressing fast it will eventually recognise it, it is a real pain when trying to text or being online.

Is there any way of resetting the screen alignment etc to get my screen back, I have tried the align screen option but it just keeps looping.

Oh yeah I have been messing with Andromnia and the screen works perfect in that, so it is software related.

Thanks

Any ideas? I have been online for the past 2 hours trying all sorts with no joy, I'm trying to remember which rom caused this but for the life of me I can't think of it!

Open a reg editor like PHM Regedit. Search for "MaxCal" and it will bring up a key called MaxCalError or something like that. Change the value from 7 or w/e to like 250, and then run the screen alignment again, it won't loop anymore and you'll have a correctly aligned screen.

hi guys,

it works !!! thankx, i've even bought a new digitizer screen to reassemble, but, with this, there's no need to.

PHM Registry Editor

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH\

REG key : MaxCalError (change it to 250 it works)

enjoy

What cab did you use to sort out the alignment problems?
