Guest Minus616 Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 I recently got a rooted t-mobile pulse However, Google Maps seems to be missing from the phone, and anytime I attempt to install it from the google site, it just trys to launch the app which I don't have! So yeah, help? :)
Guest Rem1x Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 I've rooted it, and I'm using it right now. That's weird :/

Guest racingclub Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 if you have the MCR rom installed, then I think a wipe wipes the data partition where Google Maps is installed. You could install an MCR image of your choice, do the wipe before installing if needed.

How to get the APK file from the zip ? I think when I unzip this it is unpacking the APK files as well ? (tried this both in Mac & Windows, but not working)

Guest robot1000 Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Hey, just tried that link for you and there is not a zip file? it's a direct link to an .apk file Yeh, just copy that to your phone and install
Guest flash2004 Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Yeh, just copy that to your phone and install Yup.. done that.. no issues now. Actually the phone died due to low battery and then on next boot it said "SD card damaged - Format it now?" So I removed the card and plugged it into my macbook pro. the FAT partition was detected and then I ran the disk utility on it to repair the issues. When I plugged it back on the pulse, it still said "SD card damaged" !! When I plugged it into the macbook pro again it failed to detect the partition at all !. So had to run a couple of recovery utilities and finally managed to get the partition back. Luckily pulse detected everything this time without any complaints. Just when I thought everything was ok, all apps started force closing and so had to re-install all the apps once again. Fortunately haven't lost any data yet, and everything is back to normal now :) Now just waiting for the 1.7 ROM to be released publicly.
