Guest Charlton22 Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) Any one encountered any issue with the Acer Liquid Camera Focus? Mine don't focus at all (Even when the focus indicator turn green)! My old Samsung with 1mega pixel camera has much better focus! Any one with the same problem? Edited December 24, 2009 by Charlton22
Guest Charlton22 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) Can any one please try to focus on an image. I'm getting to think that mine is faulty! If so, I have to return it back. (CLOVE) This photo was taken with the focus indicator turn to green Edited December 26, 2009 by Charlton22
Guest three_pineapples Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 mine has trouble focussing on close up things (like barcodes for instance, but does manage it eventually). Works fine on people etc. Try that and see what happens, but i'm guessing it might be faulty :)
Guest Charlton22 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Yess even mine works fine on non focusing photos, but when dealing with focus, it don't worth nothing :s I have an old Samsung with a 1mp camera and focus better than this one :s
Guest three_pineapples Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 With a bit of work, i can get it to focus on 4mm high text when approx 10cm away from the text. Often the camera gets stuck in a "focussing loop" where it does the same thing every time you try and focus. If you stop trying to get it to focus for a little bit, move it away from the object slightly and try again, often you can then get a green focus. Its odd that you say that its not in focus even when the indicator turns green. I haven't seen that. In fact just playing with it now i got it in focus once when the square was red!
Guest Charlton22 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 This is a photo just taken. I managed to get it "focused" (Greed focus light on). This is the Result. Can you please upload a similar picture so I could compare. Thanks & Regards

Did you properly remove the lens transparent cover from the lens ? I think you did but just in case you should check...

Guest three_pineapples Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Here is mine. Its somewhere in between. I'm on 1.002.005 EMEA GEN1. What are you on? From the look of your picture, you are way too close though. Try backing off so that the entire width of the display picture takes up half the camera frame. Guest CCB69 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Mine looks fine, I remember Liquid can only focus on 15cm~infinite
Guest Charlton22 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Thanks for your uploads! I tried taking the photo at the same distance as your, still no success. I'm running Acer_liquid_1.002.05_EMEA_GEN1 Same as yours, so it shouldn't be a software related problem. Could it be a Hardware fault? I contacted Clove, with the reply that the Technical Department will be back from holidays on 4th Jan. Edited December 29, 2009 by Charlton22
