Yes you can share ur omnia 3g connection with ur computer or notebook. I must get a program called WifiRouter. It'll do the work for you. will work only with 3G Connection.
Guest kav Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 apparently the new version of wmwifirouter can share the pc internet via usb as wifi, but i am having some trouble getting the ip address from the computer, i get the error message that cannot get ip from computer or server, insert ip in network settings or try later... anyone who managed to get this working has any idea how i can fix this?

Guest mstasiu Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 nevermind, got it working, awsome,, using the omnia as a wireless card for a pc How did you do this? I have problem with IP.
Guest kav Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 How did you do this? I have problem with IP. u have to start the USB to Wifi connection first on the wifirouter app. wait for it to apply the required settings to the different ports and then it will say USB : Idle Wifi: connected. only then u plug the usb cable in the omnia and the pc usb port. if u dont start the connection type first but just plug the omnia in the usb, the pc will recognise it as another hardware type and will not give it an ip. also u have to enable connection sharing from the main internet LAN to the specific LAN allocated to the omnia. it may be Local Area Connection 2 or 3 etc... read the FAQ on the website of wifirouter, it helps resolve some issues. here its just that u have to start the connection type first then when until it says idle then plug the cable. another thing, i would like to mention that the omnia doesnt have a big range as a wifi router. ( i didnt expect it to either ) u can probably get 6m if its through 3 thick concrete walls, maybe longer range if clear between the 2 devices, didnt try that one.
