Imprecise Scrolling Through Phonebook

Hello!

I own a samsung omnia 2 i8000 and I am having difficulty scrolling through my phonebook within messaging. The thing is, I would like to "send to many" one message but the default samsung phonebook skin for messaging seems to have a preset "screen scope" because for example I have names Aa, Ab, Al --- I scroll down, ever so carefully and it skips names Am, An and proceeds with those in B and so on it goes. The non-samsung phonebook skin is more precise in its scrolling but there's no select option so I have to constantly go from TO: to the phonebook. It really is rather exasperating.

Is there any trick that I can do to have a more precise, name-by-name or line-by-line scrolling rather than have a seemingly preset screen scope? Or is there any third party application I can use?

I would surely appreciate any help you can give!
