Guest robley Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Hi I've got a rooted Hero with Modaco's ROM installed and everything had been working fine for ages till all of a sudden I was unable to make calls or send/receive texts. Calls just end instantly when i go to make then - I've messed about with eveything - wiped my phone, reinstalled the rom twice and it still doesn't work! I can get on the internet though, and the signal is showing as full! Do I now have a useless brick on my hands?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! (and a merry Christmas to you all!)
Guest JuW Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 You mean, you haven`t been able to call/receive calls at all after installing Modaco?
Guest robley Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 You mean, you haven`t been able to call/receive calls at all after installing Modaco? No! I installed it a while ago and recently put 3.0 on it and that had been fine as well. Most of my time with the hero has been with Modaco on it and it's always been fine and dandy. This problem started all of a sudden yesterday morning. :)

Guest JuW Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) I have had (still have) the problem receiving/making calls and text messages since the very first original rom. I have had the problem always. Also many else is having this problem in Finland, not only hero, but HD2, Touch Pro2, Tattoo also. I have made a feedback for htc support and I recommend you all to do that in this kind of problems. Or they wont fix this problem ever. And the problem is not in a operator, but in every Finnish operators. Edited December 26, 2009 by JuW
Guest robley Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 looks like this was never solved and my phone is kaput then. :)
Guest robley Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 *bump* anyone know anything? or is my hero dead :) ive tried three or four different roms from another site as well. i put them on by dragging them over, renaming them update and running them from the boot up menu from the phone. they all just end the call instantly when i try to dial anything, including the network i'm on (T-Mobile). ;)

Guest phpdecoders Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 You can try this: adb shell sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db ALTER TABLE sms ADD COLUMN index_on_sim INTEGER DEFAULT -1; (Press Control-D) exit
Guest Dan Mullen Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 You can try this: adb shell sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db ALTER TABLE sms ADD COLUMN index_on_sim INTEGER DEFAULT -1; (Press Control-D) exit That only sorts out receiving SMS, but if he's done a wipe that would have fixed the SQLite DB anyway.
