Guest magneticflip Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Hello, I'm aware that the December update does not allow you to use custom kernels anymore. But my question is - what does a cusom kernel do? I'm a little confused and would appreciate any help on this subject. Thanks!
Guest m4dm3n Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) AFAIK since version 1.6 ( t-mobile )/1.2 ( vanilla ) custom kernel is enabled and You need to install them with december update already applied. What is it doing? Well basicly it contains few (many? :) tweaks and additional features ( like ext3/4, swap, compcache support ) which can improve overall performance or add new functionality.
