Hello,

I'm aware that the December update does not allow you to use custom kernels anymore. But my question is - what does a cusom kernel do? I'm a little confused and would appreciate any help on this subject.

Thanks!

AFAIK since version 1.6 ( t-mobile )/1.2 ( vanilla ) custom kernel is enabled and You need to install them with december update already applied.

What is it doing? Well basicly it contains few (many? :) tweaks and additional features ( like ext3/4, swap, compcache support ) which can improve overall performance or add new functionality.

Regards
