Guest Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) ...Dolphin! Did that keep you in suspense while the page loaded? Perhaps if you were using the standard Hero browser. It seems to me that Dolphin loads a bit quicker and handles tanned browsing pretty well. I've only been messing with it this evening but I think it seems pretty good. I'll be setting up some gesture controls later but the defaults seem to demonstrate the system well. I suggest you have a quick go sometime because I think it's pretty good. Ciao! Edit: tabbed, not tanned. Edited December 26, 2009 by Guest

Edit: tabbed, not tanned. Damn, I was looking forward to trying the new "tanned browsing" feature :) My mate at work uses Dolphin and says it's very good. I'd really like a tabbed browser but am not so sure about the extra "bloat" surrounding gestures and all the social networking stuff that's built in. I'll probably give it a go though.

Yeah, I don't really care for that stuff really either. I'm still fiddling with it but it's really cool to just scroll from tab to tab as in, swipe the screen to the left and the tab on the right appears.... ...er more as I experiment.
Guest starfarer Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Using Dolphin and completely forgot about built-in browser. Visually pleasing, I find gestures useful, pinch zoom, auto resize, tabs and plenty options on menu button and overall very cabable. After update, it feeling a bit slower than before :) . xScope(paid) is currently under-development and only support 1.6 or higher but getting a good reviews from peoples who used it. Developer handling feature requests and all queries at AndroidForums. No big news on Firefox fennec yet while most opera reviews are negatives.
Guest AndyCr15 Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) If you are using the bookmarks widget, will it open in Dolphin instead? Edited December 27, 2009 by AndyCr15
Guest seanyowl Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 If you are using the bookmarks widget, will it open in Dolphin instead? Yep it sure does
Guest JuW Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Default browser. IMO better and faster than Dolphin browser.
Guest Pitel Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Dolphin on wifi, Opera Mini on EDGE/GPRS.
Guest dwattsy21 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 I love the features of dolphin, butt the HTC browser is so much slicker with the zooming and auto fitting. I think soon i will use dolphin though
Guest Higgsy Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Found Dolphin slower than the default browser, so went back to default browser. I wondered if it was something to do with it being installed on the SD card using apps2sd. Dolphin is a good browser imo, and the developer seems keen to incorporate new features and iron out kinks.
Guest Ziani Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 If you are using the bookmarks widget, will it open in Dolphin instead? Yes but will bookmarks get saved to bookmark widget using Dolphin?
Guest Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Yes but will bookmarks get saved to bookmark widget using Dolphin? Just checked, no is the answer.
Guest Ziani Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Just checked, no is the answer. Shame...would really like that feature
Guest stevenz Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Dolphin uses the same browser engine as the built-in browser, so speed shouldn't be any different in theory. The main benefit is the easier tabbed browsing. Both browsers handle bookmarks poorly.
Guest Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Shame...would really like that feature To be expected though, easily worked around if you do want to trial a new browser. I'm going to switch back to Android's browser in a few days to see if I miss Dolphin or not or it was just the thrill of the new. Edited December 29, 2009 by Guest
