Guest pulsehelp Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Hi need help please. “Put your device in boot loader mode - turn if off, then tap the power button while holding the 'Volume Down' and 'End (Red)' keys” I got this to work once got the blue screen up then rebooted by taking battery out. I then updated the Dec update. Now I would like to install Patched recovery image MoDaCo Custom ROM - U8230 Vanilla Cupcake Style But for the life of me I cannot get it to the boot loader screen. Have tried 'Volume Down' and 'End (Red)' keys Quick boot but phoned not rooted, using ADB shell reboot recovery from Windows XP from the sdk. Installing T mobile Nov update that stops so no good. Been looking for more info but just got a headache am I missing out something silly. Thanks
Guest Dr Who Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Sounds like you haven't installed the patched recovery image? You need to do this before installing the custom ROM.

Guest rjm2k Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 JUst make sure the phone is powered off, press and hold the volume - and red key then power on, there's nothing more to it. If it isn't going into fastboot then you either aren't pressing the keys correctly, have a hardware fault or have somehow messed up the fastboot.
