Guest swollenballs Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Hey all, i was just wondering if anyone knows the setting for Tom Tom Navigator. At the moment it is saying no GPS device even though I've set it to "internal GPS". I've also tried to set the GPS deivce as "other NMEA GPS reciever" but it keps saying no GPS device". After setting these the phones says it must restart but the GPS is never detected by TTN7 Is TTN7 definately compatible with TG01? Few other settings its asking me is the: GPS baud rate, com port. I kept these as the default. Does anyone know whats wrong? Any help appreciated.

I amrunning it fine on my TG01 I installed GPSGate 2.6 and selected the defaults - Virtual COM2 In TomTom 7 I have it Configured as Other NMEA GPS Reciever GPS Baud Rate 57600 and the Franson COM2 should be selected to match you Virtual COM2 set in GPSGate It was not detecting on the GPS reciever on mine so I had to use GPSGate
Guest Neil5459 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 TomTom's software is unable to detect a GPS signal on the GPD ports (basically down to bad programming!) To run TomTom you do need to find an intermediary program which will locate the port then forward it to TomTom. As segaboys says, Franson GPSGate can do this, but it is not free. There is another 'intermediary' program Here on XDA Developers, but I don't know if it would work on the TG01- might be worth a question in the thread?

I tried version 1.38 and 1.39 (internationnal) but it does not work... I also tried PortSplitter and GPSPlex. Only GPSPlex works and is freeware. Get it here : http://www.maicas.net/gpsplex (Spanish website). Tutorial (in French) with screenshots (so you should be able to get things done even if you don't speak French or Spanish) : http://toshiba-tg01.forumactif.com/tuto-f6...tomtom-t334.htm But I will try again GPS MOd Driver when I find enough time to do it carefully. I can assign GPS Mod Driver port in TT7 but no signal (and works great under many other GPS software). Edited January 4, 2010 by The Real Mc Coy
