FIM Connection Issues

I'm currently using waremikes 23517 FLEO NuRom, I'm not sure if it is a ROM related issue but for what ever reason Facebook IM will not connect or fetch my friends that are online. I downloaded and installed the latest build of FIM (2.3.5.6 I believe) and Ive made sure I correctly typed in my e-mail and password and when I press sign in it just says "connecting" on the bottom bar but never actually connects or fetches my online friends...anyone care to shed any light/knowledge on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
