TG01 Sound Volume

Hi all,

I went into an Orange shop today to try the TG01 - it was running WM6.1 but the volume from the earpiece was extremely weak (and yes it was turned up to maximum). I believe that 6.5 and using SRS Wow helps. Can you confirm whether it nakes it useable as I couldn't hear the sound when I had someone talking next to me - it stopped me buying it.

I had this problem installed 6.5 and worked great with the sound only problem now is the call quality I can hear people perfectly but they can't hear me properly or not at all sometimes. This is the second handset I have had and they have both been the same. I wouldn't buy it you will regret it. Go onto a different network and get the HTC HD2

You can't really compare the two - the HD2 has a capacitive screen, which completely rules it out for me - I must have a resistive screen. There are also problems being reported with the Bluetooth stack that HTC implemented on the HD2, as it's different to all their previous phones.

It still seems that it is not overtly successful at doing its primary task - being a phone! Not being able to rely on it kinda rules it out. Although the WM6.5 and SRS Wow help I cannot see it doing anything other than making an untenable situation slightly better (a 50% success rate according to the replies thus far).

Suppose I will give it a miss I am afraid.

you could wait and see what the k01 is like as im sure its ment to be out soon (tg01 with sliding keyboard)

I run 6.5 and find the normal call listening volume too low (you always need maximum setting).

Strangely though when you plug in the headphones provided, it is too loud (you always need minimum setting)

I think some serious volume tweaking is required in the firmware.
