Guest mcperson Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 well my buddy got the moto droid and i was playin with it for a little. need i say more?? thanks for all your help guys, but im afraid this is my last visit to the forum. mine will be here monday! its was fun for the past year but all in all i've realized i hate this phone with a deep passion!!! my headaches will be gone for good!
Guest necosino Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Wow, with 21 posts, you will sorely be missed.. :)
Guest ivan2006 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I hope your headaches were created by your phone or your carrier. This site and its contributors have done nothing but make my Omnia and phone experience better. It makes me laugh that you feel your problems are over with the droid - you've just created different ones. Some of the Omnia chefs are now cooking for the droid so i would probably follow their work. I can't think of any where else in the world where you get top notch development and excellent customer service for nothing. These guys work extrememly hard just to make your phone work better and more user friendly. A simple thank you probably would have been more appropriate.

Guest mcperson Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 badword you guys. if you didn't notice i was thanking you guys for all your hard work. i didn't know s*** about windows mobile when i came here now i know a lot! oooo 21 posts...badword OFF ASS HOLES. i didn't say you'd miss me the sole purpose of making this post was to say goodbye and thanks. and sorry dude theres gonna be hardly any headaches with android because its actually a legitimate phone, unlike windows mobile which you have to badword with for a whole year and rely on geniuses to spend hours upon hours doing microsoft's job. I always thought i was happy with the omnia then ooooh! something new! after hundreds of soft resets and flashes i think its time to jump ship. maybe ill be back with windows mobile 7. i've spent many hours on android now and the only minor complaint is im gonna have to shell out 29 for PDAnet tethering...but im sure there will be some workaround soon. the omnia was awesome while it lasted but anybody that tries to defend windows mobile is just stubborn. android is far superior in every way shape and form. yeah its not perfect yet but it will be(for the most part) very soon. thanks chefs and people who port programs! AND YES MY HEADACHES ARE GONE FOR GOOD!

AND YES MY HEADACHES ARE GONE FOR GOOD! I hear ya man. I'm Canadian and on Telus, ..so I can't even use any of the awesome ROM's the chefs here build and I can only agree with you. The phone is good, but it's still crippled by windows.

The phone is good, but it's still crippled by windows. thats terrible dude. i thought somebody would have figured that out by now, but nope. did a little googling and can't even believe that. your literally getting half a phone with half the speed. hopefully the stock telus rom wasn't as bullshit as Verizons. oh well, hopefully you'll be able to jump to droid soon too, everybody's doing it very happily i might add. no complaints here. the only thing that sucks is that im not gonna get the excitement of flashing my phone every week, which i actually did enjoy. LONG LIVE ANDROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fair call pal , its been very frustrating for me . Without the folks here helping I would have smashed mine by now. It's a lovely piece of hardware but the folks who were paid to implement/design the software or however you want to put it should be ashamed of themselves , Samsung should be ashamed of themselves , lots of fine features but a right F*** around using many of them , and headphone socket on the side with that stupid socket so you cant use them while charging , very lame. People here shouldn't be so defensive after paying so much for a lot of headaches . He's just being honest , and truly without such a fine help forum many of us would have been crushed . I only wish I'd read these forums before getting the phone. And as for his lack of posts , maybe he reads a lot without asking questions , nothing wrong with that as folks always tell people here to search before asking , as on most user forums.
Guest ivan2006 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Sorry for bringing out the bad language in you. I just thought your words could have been chosen better - I also thought your first post was your last here. As I'm sure you're aware, there is probably a new droid being developed or already made to replace the old version you received in the mail today. Have a happy new year!!!
Guest mihul Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 dudes this is one fine topic! i'm sure nobody cares much about my posts here, but hey, i hear both sides! thing is, phones are overrated! we shouldn't give them as much attention, as u can all see the frustration it brings out ! to be honnest u can't compare a phone with any laptop, navigation device, camera and what not.. not just yet.. you CAN do virtually everyhing with the phone but you really wouldn't.. it's slow, it's small and in all fairness it's a compromise for every other gadget.. yes, well.. we all hope for a wm7 that's going to come with full integration of hardware drivers, a complete ui and a nice highly customizable uniform.. go wm7 i guess! cheers!
Guest rfarrah Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 After playing with an associate's droid for quite awhile over the course of a couple days, I frankly can't see the allure. The OS is nothing next to WM 6.5.3 and the equipment is bulky and heavy. For me it would be a step backward. Now when we get to play with a new Nexus in the spring, that may be a different issue. BUT, to each his own and I'm glad the OP found what works best...for HIM. :)
Guest ...angel... Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) Of course you will be fascinated by that droid for now because it's new to you... In time you'll know its flaws like when you get to know your omnia... Nothing is perfect... Even those high end phones will surely have their negative sides..(one will never be contented with what he owns) ^^, I can say this because I also felt that excitement when I replaced my viewty for an omnia... At first I was so impressed by the omnia but later on I got to know it better and know its flaws... But surely... I won't replace my omnia for a droid. Edited January 6, 2010 by ...angel...
