Guest big_mike_2k6 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 that should probably be asked at an android forum

Guest dmcnado Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Bought a Droid for my son, so I got to play around with it for about a week. It is speedy and snappy. Screen is awesome. Connect to & search the internet instantly. Get answers quickly. However, all the problems listed above by amitsharma I concur with. Also, your contacts are sorted by First Name and that cannot be changed at the moment. Another thing, your apps get installed to the root (as opposed to the storage card) and you have no control over that right now. I'm sure all these issues will get ironed out eventually. If you really want to change phones & OS and are over winmo, android is a good choice.
Guest djtosh Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 thanks for the feedback guys, im ok wiv first name sort as i do that on my omnia at the minute anyway. also there is a file manager available for it. and there are hacks around that enable data for programs to be stored on the sd card. might be tricky but thats what iv enjoyed ost bout my omnia so im ok wiv sed probs so far.

Customizations: Many HTC Sense and other Widgets. The Market is full of them. Do you really ever used an Android-Device? Its definately superior to WinMo in EVERY way: Way more fast GUI, 100% Finger-Friendly, MultiTouch... - There are plenty of good File Managers available in the Market for free. - There are plenty of Bluetooth-Apps available in the Market for free. - Limited Applications? Well from what i know, the latest Software-Concepts and Technologies (for Example: Augmented Reality) started first on Android. Android is the MobileOS of the Future.

It may very well be the MobileOS of the future, but it is still in it's infancy. IMHO, it still needs some time to mature before the customization factor approaches WM. Having said that, the new Nexus looks SWEET.
