Guest El Matarife Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 When I first got my Hero I didn't have a gmail address so could not set up an account for the Android Market. Now that I have a gmail account I believe I need to factory reset my phone to get the Android Market working - as you can only successfully get it set it up when you first turn the phone on (?). I already have a whole bunch of SMS messages that I'd rather not lose and contacts that I'd rather not have to manually re-input. So is there a way for me to save them on to my PC and then reload them on to my Hero after the reset? Thanks!
Guest soulehs Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Google Apps > Clear Data That should force the reset of the google account attached to the phone and enable to enter your new one. Edit: Click Market once youve done that to bring up the sign in screen. Edited January 4, 2010 by soulehs
Guest El Matarife Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Thanks for the advice. I still get the 'can't establish a reliable data connection to the server' message whenever the phone tries to sign in though.
