Guest VitorHP Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Hello guys, I know a lot of people create topics like that to ask for help, but I didn't find a specific topic to anwser these questions, so if someone could help me, I thank you! Where do I start? I saw this: 1.) get grandprix vista 1.6.4 2.) get i900_EXEcutor.exe 3.) get whatever (cooked) ROM 4.) dissasemble ROM with i900_executor 5.) run grandprix 6.) load LOADER, PDA and CSC (some roms don't have CSC - it's ok...leave blank) 7.) disable START DOWNLOAD IMMEDIATELY 8.) connect phone 9.) restart phone 10.) 1st time it will search for drivers (like MODEM DRIVER in XP) 11.) it woun't find it immediatly (restart phone few times until it finds it) 12.) repeat steps 9-11 until GRANDPRIX shows phone found 13.) when this happens you are ready to go 14.) flash the phone Will it work in my phone? Guest cruddasj Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Hey. You will need to do alot of reading and such before flashing your phone. You dont need to download granprix as ROMs are already packaged up as .EXE files and includes the flashing software. It can only be done on XP as the modem drivers will only work on that OS. There is a way to do it by using VMWare but I personally chose to create a physical partition on my laptop. Once you have had a read through what you need to do, check against this: Part 1: Part 2: That was the first time i ever flashed my phone and all went okay. I must have flashed 100 + times since i started cooking via this method so it does work. Just be careful with what your doing and you'll be okay.
Guest kevin2210 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) dont usu grand flash rom using exe file is safetest, dowwn load rom (exe) conect device using cable via active syn , run exe file (pc with xp OS) turn off and turn on device , click start to flash , wait for job done that's all, be sure yours pc already installed samsung_cdma_modem driver before flash rom Edited January 4, 2010 by kevin2210
Guest VitorHP Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Thank you cruddasj and kevin2210 !!! Since my phone has never been flashed before, I haven't to format it, correct? So, I only must install the driver (http://rapidshare.com/files/179674742/MODEM_DRIVER_FOR_XP.zip) in a Windows XP PC and do that you said. Is that correct? And other question, will I lost all data on the My Storage? Edited January 4, 2010 by VitorHP
Guest whigga Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I know a lot of people create topics like that to ask for help, but I didn't find a specific topic to anwser these questions, so if someone could help me, I thank you! Dude!! WTF!! Don't you know how to use 'search' ??? The first thread on this forum is actually an elaborative tutorial on how to flash your omnia with a custom ROM. So HELL YEAH there is "a specific topic to answer your questions"!! :) You MUST have seen it when finding your ROM. Please learn how to use search and try to find out things for yourself before asking! You will find that almost all questions you can think off are already asked and answered numerous times!! I recommend the same to you as Cruddasj: Do a lot of reading before flashing your phone. However, since this is a new year, I will help you on you way: Please start here. Oh, and another advice: Since you're new to all this and don't sound like the brightest kid alive, use a computer running windows XP to flash your ROM of choice. That's the easiest, most reliable and idiot proof. Good luck!
