Hi everybody! Sorry to moderators if there`s a same thread, i couldn`t find it. And sorry for my bad english. :)

Few days ago, i`ve had a "frozen screen" on my Omnia. I soft reseted, but nothing happend. There`s a Samsung screen as usual, then Windows mobile screen, but that`s all. I tried to hard reset as in http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...set-your-omnia/ first step, but it didn`t worked. B)

I`m not sure if there is a hardware problem, or something else?

I`m using Omnia I, WM 6.1, and have installed SPB 3.5, and some usual apps (S2U2,S2P,MortScrips,MortButtons,CleanRam...).

Any ideas?

Thanx in advance!

You should be able to at least hard reset. Try this again, push the soft reset button whilst holding down both the talk and end buttons at the same time.

I had a similar problem way back when I first got my omnia and began loading apps on it. The problem was that I had installed too many apps on the original factory ROM and I had bottlenecked the system to where it froze often. Perhaps you are already aware of this, but if you successfully do a hard reset, make sure that you install as many of your apps onto MY Storage, or the Storage Card as possible. I know for a fact that MS 3.5 uses a lot of resources and installs itself directly to the device. If you are using an original ROM, then they are already very heavy on memory usage.

Worst case, then I would suggest that you flash a custom ROM. They tend to be lighter on the memory usage and there are still some 6.1 ROMs to be found on this forum, you just have to look for them.

If you have windows xp, try to access to your mobile through active sync application... Turn off the phone, plug usb, open active sync and turn on the phone. Wait until the phone will not be recognized by program... After try to access to your mobile through active sync explore menu, then go in Windows/startup folder (in my italian rom it's called "esecuzione automatica") and delete any shortcuts you will believe being the problem... Few days ago I recovered my omnia in this way....

PS: sorry for my bad english, if you're italian i will explain to you in italian, it's best both for me and for you :)
