Guest mtoloko Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Hi guys.. after I applied 1.1-pulse-superboot and 1.2.3-pulse-amonrarecovery, my phone starts normally but the touchscreen don't work, any idea about that ?!
Guest nicox45 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) I had the same problem.. I think it happens when you install superboot. Anyway, I found no way to make it work again, (tried everything) so I just talked to the provider and changed it for a new one.. If you can find a way to fix it please tell me how!! bye! good luck!! EDIT: You are from Brazil, I am from Chile, I think we have the same clear (OS) version of the pulse... superboot seems to be only for tmobile pulse customized devices. Hey, what i need to make a superboot to our mobile U8220 ? If you're going to put one of Paul's ROMs on it - you don't need to need to apply superboot first. Superboot is only if you want to keep your original ROM, but have root access on it. All of the custom ROMs come with root access by default. So what you would need to do would be to flash the custom recovery image and then flash the U8230-based custom ROM.
Guest nicox45 Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) I think the pinned topic about superboot should be edited to warn anyone from other providers to install superboot. It seems to work only with the tmobile pulse not a huawei u8220 device !! :) Edited January 7, 2010 by nicox45

Guest McSpoon Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 It's good to hear you're getting a replacement. I would strongly advise you NOT to install any of the custom ROMs from this forum if you have a Claro U8220/U8226, otherwise you'll lose the touchscreen again. The ROMs hosted here are intended for the T-Mobile Pulse. In the UK, T-Mobile have produced firmware updates for the Pulse. If Claro (or whichever provider sold you the device) if they ever release a firmware update for the U8220/U8226 then please post a link to it on this forum. It usually consists of a file called 'UPDATA.APP'. From that we'll be able to safely extract the boot image and discover what the difference is, and perhaps even cook some ROMs for your region. Until then, you should resist any temptation to flash over your boot image or recovery image.

I heard some of the company I work saying that Huawei was one of procedure and send files to update to the Android 2.0, I do not know if it's true. If true, I share with the forum. I work in a mobile phone company and I will wait to see what happens. Thank you.
Guest maitas Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Hi Team. I had the same problem and got it reflashed by Huawei but they won´t give me the ROM image. The problem is that the TouchScreen stop working after I tried to root it. Can anyone confirm if there is any other (safe) way to roo U8220 ? Thanks in advance.
Guest kenoboe Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Try my superboot for Taiwan's U8220. Using pulse's superboot could also cause my phone cannot reboot normally or touch screen couldn't work. So I made a superboot for my phone. I'm not sure if it can work on phones from other countries. Remember to back up your current rom before you apply it. http://android.modaco.com/index.php?act=at...st&id=47977 Hi Team. Guest Jan M Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Remember to back up your current rom before you apply it. and the way to do that (without flashing/modifying your device) is by booting into the recovery image: fastboot boot recovery...img
Guest fiskmasen Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I got the same problem with my Huawei u8220 from 3 sweden, they have promise an update in late februari
Guest McSpoon Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I got the same problem with my Huawei u8220 from 3 sweden, they have promise an update in late februari Hi fiskmasen, I suspect your phone is using firmware: U8220-HD1U822M29V100R001C125B249SP01(Sweden H3G). So if your phone isn't working correctly you could try reinstalling that firmware from here: http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/down..._Sweden_H3G.zip But, be warned, it will wipe everything on your phone (contacts, SMS messages, apps, etc.) all will be lost but it should restore your phone back to it's original factory state as if brand new.

Guest mtoloko Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Hi, I've tried got root on my mobile(after december patch), but i have some problem because my phone it's different of T-Mobile Pulse, so when I apply the superboot image to my mobile my touchscreen don't work. After I tried create my own superboot image, but it's doesn't work. I follow theses steps: - Unpacking boot.img (superboot) - Copying /superboot and change init.rc to write some strings and change default.prop ro.secure = 0. - Repack after including some files, but the new boot.img has its size minor than the original file, and When i apply in my mobile it's only huawei splashscreen. See here my own boot.img(original) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TQY2B56W and changed bot.img http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GA841O9F . Help me please, I wanna get root to use App2Sd. Thanks.
