Can we dump it by recovery mode? Edited January 7, 2010 by CHN-michael
Guest ken218 Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 morelocale let you choose more display languages (including chinese), google pinyin IME let you input chinese. both apps are available in the market.
Guest themadwacky1 Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 there is also cantonese keyboard as well, which lets you write chinese via the Yale Pinyin system and it also installs the fonts pack needed to read chinese.
Guest Neil.Zhulei Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I just got a Pulse, it was in T-mobile stype ROM, it is around 80% Chinese just like CHN-michael said, but in the Display and text setting, I can not find Chinese, then I tried to change it to English, and... I don't know how to change it to back to Chinese... anyway it is OK, I installed the sogou pinyin IME, and it works perfectly. then I tried the stock ROM, in the first boot, it was in Chinese, the same no Chinese option in the display setting, and I did it again, now it is in English and can't be back to Chinese...

U can try to backup your contact, and then the factory data....it would be displayed in Chinese The 8230 ROM offered a ALLPACK.APK without any simple chinese or traditional chinese, while the 8220 rom do not have this apk. I try to tell my friend to backup the Unicom's rom, just hope good luck to him. :)

The way is the factory reset... to change to Chinese... I'm just wondering how does it know I want to use Chinese? The Unicom ROM, how is it? I thought it would be the Unicom ROM when I got the phone.

When I tried your chinese 8220 backup it initially had lots of chinese text but eventually realised I had an english sim and changed most of the text to english.

As a laowei I have no need for chinese entry yet, but I would be grateful if anyone knows the correct settings for the CMNET APN as I can't get any GPRS data. None of the settings I have found in google seem to work. Perhaps I need to wait until next month as I have only just activated the GPRS bundle via 10086.
Guest nikonf80 Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 Yes, it can. The chinese language is built inside. You need to install a chinese input method to input chinese.

Hi~ I think you are saying laowai, it is a 'a'. Which city are you currently living in? I am using the China Mobile M-Zone also, but I just ordered a new SIM of China Unicom as it can use the WCDMA 3G network, will get it by this Friday. You should can access the internet immediately once you active the GPRS service, only the fee package will not be available till next month. The attached is my APN setting.

I've not been able to find an English-language description of their call rates or bundles anywhere! as a ¥96 package, it offer a 300 wherever and whenever minutes outcall, unlimited incall in China(excepte Hongkong,Macao and Taiwan),No more any Long-Distance Charge. 300MB Data per month.12G Email(No exactly about this). And other sth like M or T which I still do not understant it.After 300 minutes is over ,it cost ¥0.15 per mins If you are a student ,there is a student parkage offer 50 minutes outcall ,and 240 messages,300MB data per month ,cost ¥66.After 50 mins,it cost ¥0.2 per mins. In Feb or March ,there would be a much more cheap parkages, just hope it be real.
