Should I wipe, format SD and partition AGAIN for MCR 3.1

Hi, the title says it all. I am currently using MCR 3.0 T1.91 (the only one I've ever used) and am getting ready to update to 3.1, I just wanted to know whether before updating I should wipe the Hero and format the SD and partition it again?

If this is the case, would it also be the case for installing a different ROM?

you dont need to, but i did including a full deletion and recreation of the partitions on the SD card. Mine was a little chuggy at times and hasnt had a full proper wipe for a long time so thought it was useful. Make sure you backup all the stuff tho!

No reason to do any of that when you upgrade - just go for it :)

If 3.0 is the only one that you have ever used, then I think you will be unable to use the 4 new HTC widgets (battery, dice, etc) unless you re-wipe before installing 3.1. I know that they are certainly not there on my 3.1 which was upgraded without a wipe (and 3.0 was the first I ever used too).

However you shouldn't need to touch the SD card. In fact if you have lots of settings you want to keep then try backing them up to the SD card with Titanium Backup or something similar.

But if you don't care about those widgets, then don't do a thing - just upgrade!

Dont need to format sd, just wipe data, dalvik and make a clear install, u will get the 4 new HTC widgets, change in speed is noticeable and internal memory should increase too since the MCR 3.0.
