Guest rrcarter Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) My homescreen reloads after i come back to it after browsing or using another program. At first i thougt it is normal because of the memory management, the closing of programs to conserve memory. But sometimes it happens for no apparent reason like after just reading a text message. Usually i dont mind, but it takes 5 to 10 seconds for the widgets to appear and in the meantime i am unable to do anything I just would like to know if other people have the same problem, and if there is a way to stop this. Maybe a task killer program that doesnt allow the homescreen proces to be killed. Edited January 8, 2010 by rrcarter

Try adding those to Taskillers ignore list, a long press on the programs icon in Taskiller and select ignore. I had a similar problem but i had my home replacement program ignored and it still happened moving to a Custom Rom helped, if you arent already on one of pauls roms try it.
Guest rrcarter Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Thanks, No i am not using any home replacement, because i think it will only increase to problem. Because using a diffrents lock screen then the standard one will cause it to happen after unlocking. I think i am going to try a custom rom, hopefully that will help.

I don't really think your problem is something special. I can really recommend you a custom ROM from MoDaCo. Especially the U8230 ROM. Only one word... beautiful :) Greetings, BigBearMDC Edited January 8, 2010 by BigBearMDC
Guest rrcarter Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Thanks bigbear i'm going to try that one. Never understood why stock rom are slow, you would think that t-mobile would like the phone to be as fast as possible.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 you would think that t-mobile would like the phone to be as fast as possible. I think this has nothing to do with T-Mobile but with Huawei. Remember to make a nandroid backup before flashing the custom ROM! Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest helikopter Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 if you put too many widgets onto your home screen the reload issue will happen no matter on which custom rom you are, although it's true that they can help a lot to reduce the number of occasions it's happening.

Have you noticed you battery draining faster than normal?
Guest rrcarter Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 I barely have any widgets on my homescreen, that was the first thing that i thought of. i only use 2 screens with 4 widgets each and the clock. and im not using lock 2.0 but used lockbot, and i havent noticed much difference in battery life (not completely sure though)

Thanks for the tip but used lockbot, i do not anymore. in my case it didnt seem to force close or cause issues, but maybe thats because my pulse has its own issues :)
