Guest vinaymanro Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Just spotted an interesting piece of news thanks to the folks over at PocketNow. Yesterdays announcement regarding HTC's latest update for the HD2, which fixed an issue with showing/hiding SIM contacts, turns out to have more behind it. According to PocketNow, after applying the update, it looks like the Radio on the HD2 has been upgraded to 2.06.51.07. I have not applied the update on my HD2 yet, but ill get around to it this weekend to see what it offers. It will take a couple of days to see if there is any change in Phone, Data, WiFi, GPS or Battery life. Have you applied this update? Did your Radio change? If so have you noticed any improvements? Guest timeline Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 argh, so is it safe to buy one yet? how many updates do you need on an overpriced machine that you won't guarantee WM7 on?
Guest apemonkeyman Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I am wondering if this is going to hard reset my HD2 as the RUU states when you go to run it. If so I may as well go for a new ROM 1st... I have read on XDA Devs that the latest update does not hard reset the phone - however I decided to flash the complete ROM v1.61 instead & see how that works out for me. Too early to tell so far tho... ...& timeline, as far as I'm concerned the HD2 is worth the glitches I have been working around. I got used to using unofficial WM6.5 ROMs on my Orbit2 so when HTC finally get their glitches fixed then it will admittedly be a breath of fresh air, but for me not a deal breaker to hold out for... it will be interesting to see if the unofficial ROMs manage to fix the bugs before HTC does. AFAIK they do not so far...
Guest grey Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I have applies all the updates available for the HTC HD2 after the ROM update now I have no screen lock and I am unable to open emails by tapping on them?
Guest apemonkeyman Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I have applies all the updates available for the HTC HD2 after the ROM update now I have no screen lock and I am unable to open emails by tapping on them? Not had the screen lock problem but occasionally I have had an issue with tapping emails bringing up the context menu instead of opening the mail. I found that closing the messaging app in task manager was enough to reset it.
