Guest Markwin Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 I'm running the Verizon CF03 ROM. AGPS works, but it only has an accuracy of 1-2km (not very useful). I was on the unofficial GPS unlock ROM. AGPS didn't work, but GPS in Google maps worked. It took a while (5-10 min to lock) but it worked. Now on the official Verizon rom, it's the reverse AGPS is immediate, but I've NEVER locked one satellite. Did Verizon screw us again? I've tried all of the settings I could find in the forum, comm/baud rate settings, xtra.exe, 3rd party (GPStoggle) nothing works. I have (what I believe) to be a rather modest goal... ... get a satellite lock in under 5 minutes. MW

MW Of course you did the simple thing of setting the gps option under phone services ?? :) Also it may be fixed but I believe the newer google map 3.3 there a issue. I use 3.1. After a flash and setting up I still lock in 2-3 minutes then from then on its less than a minute, outside. B) ;)
Guest brandogg Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Also make sure you're not driving or anything when you're trying to get a lock. It's possible, but it's easier if you're not moving.

The other thing, and not to insult you, is make your you enabled the GPS in the Phone settings. I have forgotten that a couple of times after a flash, and caused myself undo frustration. Persistance paid off, finally got a lock, after retrying (outside) for over 2 hours !!!

It's possible, but it's easier if you're not moving. I have a much different experience. When driving I get a lock in 30 seconds without fail. If I am simply outside with the phone pointed at a clear sky it will take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to get a lock. This has been the case with every rom I have tried using CC20 or CF03.
