Want to get into adb's, dalvik-cache, etc...

Ok, to say that I am a bit of a noob with flashing, etc is a bit of an understatement. I originally rooted my phone when MCR was at 2.3, and only managed it because of TheUnlockr's amazing videos. However, I've been using them for quite a while now, and read a lot about apps2sd, adbs, etc...and I want to get to understanding it and doing it.

The first thing I wanted to do is clean out my dalvik-cache and notice that the Amon-Ra recovery image includes this now. I, however. have an old cyanogen recovery image...which is quite basic. So, I head over to the 'how to' document, and find some information on how I can do this on my linux machine.

However, my first hurdle is that I'm getting an "insufficient permissions for device" message on the "sudo ./adb-linux shell reboot bootloader" entry.

I wonder if any patient soul might be able to spend a little time with me, trying to get this resolved so that I can enjoy Hero to it's fullest.

Thanks in advance.

Mike
