HTC Magic been upgraded with Hero Software gone wrong!

I've been given a magic to take a look at, and it keeps getting to the hero logo and rebooting, I can get it into bootloader and when it feels like loading the recovery menu you can't go up and down at all. I've tried to reflash the recovery menu but I'm getting nowhere even though its accepting the file

It looks like its recieved a bad flash upgrade to a custom ROM, at this stage I would like to just get it back to its official ROM or if its easier to go to custom.

I'm a little rusty when it comes to HTC ROM upgrading since my last efforts where on a Tytn II :)

Any advice would be helpful B) As I'm guessing the HERO ROM and the Magic device are compatable ;)

Magic and Hero ROMS are as far as I know NOT compatible. So if someone tried to flash a Hero rom on a Magic that's your problem right there. Try with the stock Magic rom from HTC.com.

Thanks, not sure if I'm stuck in Saturday afternoon idiot mode but on the HTC site it offers me a list of FAQ's for the Magic (Vodafone) which this one is, or if I go HTC (MAGIC) just offers a sync upgrade.

Any suggestions? :)

Bummer. I only checked the Norwegian support pages, and there is a rom upgrade.

Usually the "nordic" ROMs contains Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and English locale, so you might want to try it anyways. If it will make the phone work again, then you can flash something else afterwards:

Plan B, Can I use a customized ROM ?

depending on if you have a 32a version then you can install this magic rom http://www.htc.com/hk-en/SupportDownloadLi...ct=sd&cat=2

the needed serial number can be found on xda or google :) ( would post it but ive lost it after i upgraded , but the rom is fast and has all the functions including htc sense as the hero , it even looks like a hero , to install a goldcard will be needed for the region problem while installing , but its worth the upgrade , but this is only for a 32A based magic , some vodafone magics are 32B ( check before you upgrade as you need the extra ram )

another rom just out is for europe and contains the same as the hk version linked above but you have your apn's auto installed which is better than typing it in , also the htc sync seems to work better as well

Do any of you know if updated ROM work on a T-Mobile USA Google branded 32A Magic (myTouch)?
