Gmail not pushing anylonger

I've got the beta rom from Paul running well. The only thing I have noticed is that google no longer auto updates (and it is checked to do so in settings). I have gmail unread widget installed (fantastic and well worth the money!) which tells me how many unread emails I have currently. When i click on it, it opens up gmail for me, but I then have to manually sync it before it will show anything.

Anyone else having this problem? Could it have anything to do with advanced task manager or anything? i have set it to exclude gmail from auto close as well as the force close part.

Try clearing your gmail cache, I had a sync problem and that sorted it for me. Sounds somewhat different to your problem but it might be worth a go.

Go into Settings | Applications | Manage Applications...

Scroll and select GMail -> Clear Cache and Clear Data

select GMail Storage -> Clear Cache and Clear Data

exit settings, and go back to GMail app and do a refresh
