How do you switch between applications

Hi,

I have just bought a Pulse, great phone and i'm slowly learning how to use android. However I can't work out how to switch between running applications without returning to the home screen, is there an easier method.

Thanks

Hold down the power button, then choose Task List. You can choose which app from there.

There might be apps that do similar.

I've had my Pulse since middle of Dec and I only just discovered the above task list by accident this morning as I was powering it off. I don't usually read the list that comes up and automatically reach for "Power off" but today I pressed the task list instead and wondered why it wasn't powering down :)

It's because 'sjoerdos92' is using a HTC hero.

Damn.. Have my pulse for weeks and just found it out. Did open my task list a couple of times.. But never figurrd out I should just press an icon..

So is there also a way of shutting down apps, instead of keeping them all open (without using apps like taskkiller)? (If I missed the option of switching, maybe I missed that too xD)

I use Taskiller, one click ends all tasks I've not set to ignore. Nice & easy! :)

Or just go to the Market and get Advanced Task Manager Free, which I use for switching the apps, not for the task killer, you don"t need that, Linux does a great job in managing the RAM.
