Guest theroadwarrior Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Just plugged my touch HD into my win 7 laptop just to charge it it popped up with the mobile device centre software which i hadnt used before, the laptop is new and ive not been syncing my phone with any computers for ages as i dont really use outlook any more. Anyway it complained about have 2 device partnerships set up and asked me to delete one, i've just gone to use my phone and I realise i've lost everything.. no contacts or calandar. Lost years of calendar data. Still have photos etc. At NO POINT did mobile device centre say it would delete stuff of the phone, it just went away merrily syncing (What it was syncing i've no idea as i didnt select anything to sync) So annoyed right now, im gonna have to find my old desktop which might or might not still have outlook on it and try to find some of my contacts- i'm in the middle of a house move this weekend so everything is boxed up and the last thing i need is to not have a single f*****g phone number!! Any ideas how i can get the data back from the deleted partnership, does windows back it up somewhere before it deletes it from the phone?
Guest Alshandron Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Lesson learned. Back up your data. SPB Backup Anyways, Windows Mobile Device Center does indeed notify you about this. Also your phone does notify you if you are trying to delete a sync partnership. It just happens to be a rather long dialog window so many users just skip it. Check the Deleted Items -folder and the "Recover Deleted Items" if they are there. If not, your data is lost.
Guest Sb. Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 If your constantly flashing just untick all the boxes when first sync. ALWAYS make a back up! try using microsoft my phone. I use Sprite-backup.
