ROM Update for T-mobile branded HTC G2?

hi! new to the forums here, looks very tech-savy here so may get the answers im looking for :)

i have a htc g2 touch, which is the branded htc hero (i guess?) and there r updates flying around for this incredible phone to eliminate slight lag........some ppl say its going to be available individually per network.....im so lost, i dont know if its available direct from htc or t-mobile yet and if it is...where? if any1 can direct me to the right area for me to post this too it will be most appreciated! thanks
