First of all thank you Paul for another great ROM, hopefully soon i will find a way to subscribe to show you my appreciation.

Second of all, i want to advice you all to wipe your phone - back up whatever you go to - and do it clear it up and give the rom a fresh start !

Why ? because i installed this rom over my previous and previous, just because i didn't feel like setting it all up. But after this upgrade, i really didn't feel any difference ; at least not a big one. I said to myself this can't be it, i went for the wipe :) And i'm telling you , my hero never been snappier ! i got +50 Ram available wit things i run and 134MB of memory ( i know most of us save the apps on SD, but it just feels great )

I just felt like sharing my cent here B)

Cheers to all !

Thank You Paul! keep up the good work ;)

But did you try Titanium Backup ? it supposedly saves up your settings and all :) try it .. you got back ups in case ! makes a difference after wipping .. i tough it cant get really faster or that i wont notice, but i did .. My Skyscape , for example, used to take couple of seconds to load, not i bearly get to see the loading screen B)

I also installed over first and didn't notice a difference.

I then did a wipe and it is much snappier than any of the other ROMS I have tried.

Thanks for all your efforts.

If you don't want to do a full wipe, try just wiping the dalvik-cache, either through recovery, or via adb shell using

rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache

1st boot after wiping the cache will take another minute or so (several minutes if you've got heaps of apps)

I tried to wipe everything and it seem my Hero flying a bit more fast, internal memory increased from 90 to 127 too.

Now I also got 4 new HTC widgets, the things that I missed when flashed over MCR 3.0.

Titanium Backup did a great work

Thanks a lot Paul, for this wonderful rom :)

With titanium Backup i have to restore every single backup manually ? And can i backup the settings for HTC Sense desktop too?

After updating from 2.8 to 2.9, 3.0 and 3.1RC2 in the last couple of month I did my first wipe to install a fresh 3.1 custom baked ROM.

It is great! Much faster and snappier, all apps starts very quickly and lots of free space and memory. I would suggest everyone to try a wipe every other version... :-)

I also did a full wipe and things felt a bit snappier. Last time I did that was quite a few modcaco roms ago.

I had a problem where everything would slow down quite badly every now and again - this also seems to have gone away.

Dang.

In the search for speed, I just did a nandroid backup, a titanium backup, a reboot, a wipe, a fresh install, and then, after finishing the setup, I thought I was crazy to do it all, shutdown and restored my nandroid.

Then I read this post.

Hmmmm... can I be bothered setting it all up again?

Do I really think it is worth it?

Is there any way to backup the scenes? I spent a lot of time laying my widgets out, and don't want to have to do it again...

I backed up "sense" using titanium.

I also backed up the sms/mms/apn thingy, too.

You pro erasers, is there anything else I should backup in titanium? And what items in titanium would you recommend not backing up or restoring (are there any parts that should be entirely fresh?)?

I needed to wipe as my Wifi wasn't working. I upgraded the radio - no wipe - no wifi.

Wiped and it works.

I deactivated WiFi (thru locale 1.0) but when waking up from sleep my WiFi is activated again. This happens to anyone else?

soopahfly: If your WiFi is not working you need to remove the known networks and access points. With a wipe you have done so... :-)

Solved! It is locale itself that checks from time to time the location and enables for 1 sec. WiFi...

So I wiped and went through the arduous process of restoring my settings and apps last night.

I couldn't find a way to bulk restore using Titanium. Is there any?

So, after clicking on every program and restoring them one-by-one, I then restored the "sesnse" backup, and my MMS/SMS/APN backup.

I rebooted, and everything was there, only I had another 30MB storage on my phone. Nice.

There was also something in Titanium that mentioned bookmarks, but after restoring it, I never got my bookmarks back... no biggie, especially as it seems that I was able to restore everything else.

And you know what? It DOES seem faster! I've been playing with it since last night, and again at work today, and I'm yet to experience the usual slow-down: even without using a task killer!

So! Fantastic! Yay, Paul! Thanks heaps! Much improved phone!

I'm gonna wait for 3.2 to leave Beta, and probably won't wipe the phone again until Android 2.1 (MCR4.0) is released.

But, I really think it was worth the effort!

Thanks for the tip, Marcony0!
