Hey, after this last weekend, I've noticed a problem with my Omnia i910's camera button. First off, pressing it doesn't cause any reaction. It doesn't start the camera app the way it used to. I thought perhaps I dropped it and the button broke, but now I'm not sure.

When I start the camera app from the start menu (or by tying another button to the camera app) pressing the original camera button to the half-stop mark does make it do its auto-focus trick... The camera beeps as it focuses, and reacts normally. However, no matter how much harder you push it, it never takes a picture.

Im just trying to verify that it's a hardware issue... I've flashed to a new rom since this and the problem didn't go away. Alternatively, is there an easy way to move the "shutter" button to something else, the way I was able to change which button started the app?

Thanks

May be I didn't understand your Q properly, but you can assign nay button to start the camera application (settings --> Personal --> Buttons).

from the camera application, you can use the enter button to take picture/start rec. it won't give you the half press / full press options but you still can focus and take pictures.

I've got a problem with camera shutter button too.

When I press the shutter button, it does start the camera mode. But I cannot take a shot(or focus with half press) by press the shutter button again.

Anybody know how to fixed this?

Thanks,

This is normal - the volume buttons don't work while the camera button is pressed.

The camera button and the volume up and down keys and even the call and end call keys did not work for me, and as my warranty had ended 3 didn't do anything for me. I opened up my Omnia though, and cleaned the hardware buttons, now all the buttons work again, though I dont recommend it, I only did it because I've had the Omnia for a long time and I dont mind if it breaks right now. It might not be the same problem either.
