Can you send an email attachment using the gmail or standard email application on android?

if it's possible, it's certainly not obvious...

Press the 'menu' button while composing an email and then add the attachment.

Alternatively, use a file browser like Astro to find the file, and then long-press, choose 'share' and choose Gmail to create an email with the file attached.
