Guest Fred Bloggs Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 (edited) Hi, quick question. Being reading up on this for a while now, I'm still hesitating to go ahead. My problem is I've read that USB 2 is better to use to update the firmware... my PC is old, with XP installed, so I decided to use my daughters which has vista, & USB 2 on. But after reading this link http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...0-step-by-step/ I'm undecided. Would it just be better to use my PC with the old USB ? Thanks, FB. Guest necosino Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 USB 2.0 is definitely better and more safe than USB 1.0, and it is easy to do on vista.
Guest derec Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 USB 2.0 is not needed. I just flashed my omnia on old, USB 1.1 notebook without problem.
Guest Abqcub Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 All the failed flashes I've seen have been to do with using a USB 1.0 port, so I would use the vista computer
