Metro Says the cant flash my Omnia

Ok guys, I just finished taking the Omnia i910 to a Metro store and had them talk to Houdini while they tried to flash it. I spoke to the Houdini rep myself who said "Omnia's were released with 2 different ROMs", He says my phone seems to have the ROM Houdini doesn't support. Now, I spoke candidly with the Metro tech and he said (on the sly) phones can have their esn cloned or changed from my phone or a "dead" esn to the new phone and "brute force" the phone on the network. Is this possible? How can I find out more? :)
