Guest pulser Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Nice find :) must try it out tomorrow. Thanks. Unfortunately mcr 3.1 doesn't seem to have uinput support, so this looks a no-go to me I'm afraid. I'd really like something like this to work, but I don't think it will at present. If Paul could include it in future, it might. Or, does anyone know how to add uinput support, as I could release an update.zip if I knew what to add.
Guest kookix Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) You can try Copy2Anywhere. It is not realtime but it could be helpful Edited January 16, 2010 by kookix
Guest Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Not entirely what you're after but if you get hold of Motorola's Phone Tools, you can connect to your phone over your wi-fi network and then compose and send SMS from your PC.

Very good point, actually :) thanks for reminding me about that. Iirc, that app is proprietary to Motorola, so it might be best to just suggest 'Google is your friend' for anyone who wants to get this. :) From what I've heard, the interface is quite nice, and very usable. As you say, this is only really for sending messages, but that's probably the main time you need to use a phones keypad, so would be useful. Thanks foe the suggestion :)

Guest lemmingzappa Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 That moto portal is really nice, everything on the app works except for sending SMS :)

Guest Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 No luck running this app on MCR 3.1. # RemoteInput Error opening terminal: xterm. Works for me on MCR 3.1.1
Guest blackcoffee85 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Works for me on MCR 3.1.1 I was using Putty on windows to SSH - will try with Linux then later. I just followed the instructions (copied 3 files) and made RemoteInput executable. Is there anything else you did?
