Omna bricked, only red led light is on, screen dark, no samsung logo

Bricked my Omnia when flashing new rom when lost power supply to my PC.

Symptoms/condition is -blank-dark screen no Omnia logo! Only red light led is on, which is different to a Samsung logo can be seen on screen and red led is on...

The bricked Omnia has only RED LIGHT-led on. No connection can be established between the Omnia and Active Sync to reflash rom.

Have tried Wincontrol (Emergency mode) option - no luck there either, as this is for other type of bricked situation ok, but not for this one.

Have not tried Grandprix yet, but in other threads found that this will not help either.

Have been reading forums and the JTAG ($280) repair Omnia-Samsung box is mentioned, but too expensive, and I guess need to have some insight knowledge of how to use that box… Also other options send it to Romania, some guys there can bring it back to life, but again it will cost €30 plus round €15 shipping costs = €45 which is not bad, but again...if there is an option and somebody knows, please share.

Will try to bring it back from the dead, will give another try for another week or two.

Perhpas there is a memory micro-sd flashing options?

Anybody out there with some knowledge of what other methods to try, would be much appreciated. muchas gracias! :)

Can you remember the status of the update process when the power was interrupted? Is it downloading eboot or pda?

the status of the update process was as I remember, first 1minute of the flash and bang, no power in all house for about 2-3 seconds, then power is back.

The rom I was trying to flash was one of chefs cooked roms, obviously nothing to do with chefs-cooked rom, just panicked and did silly things like power on of soft reset etc. nothing only power red led on. As for the eboot or pda? Cannot tell you, as I am so new to all this, just trying to educated here myself and see if there is something I can do to this vegtable :)

Try to hard reset your omnia.... which can be done by this method:

1) reset the phone by pressing reset button at top with stylus

2) immediately press and hold call and end call button

3) hold the button until you see the screen saying format or cancel...(it takes 3-5 seconds) to format memory and restore press call button
