Should I buy Hero

Hi I want to buy new phone. I want to buy HTC HERO of OMNIA 2 I8000. Which would you recommend. I hear that battery doesn't last long on hero. I also hear that omnia has big ram issue.

Battery is fine (2-3 days) if you disable all those twitter/facebook widgets using data in the background.

I haven't tried the Omnia, but I only have good things to say about the Hero. It's true though, that the battery doesn't last very long, but that's the case for 99% of all smartphones, especially touchscreen ones. But I would recommend the Hero.

Hero is great... or maybe Nexus One? It's also a HTC Product

does hero have flash on cam? Could I update it to 2.1 android? Can I use turn by ruen apps without to have root phone (so taht i copy them on sd card - Sygic mcguider...).

Turn-by-turn satnav apps? coPilot Live 8 should work without rooting, don't know about Sygic

The Hero is a great phone! I will probably keep mine for a while, given that we will get 2.1 soon. That being said, there are already some better phones out there. If I was looking for a new phone right now, I'd probably be looking at the Nexus One.

Nexus One is better value for the money. I think its just a better phone overall, will have better forward compatibility as well if u are looking to keep it for a relatively long time (6m and over is my definition of long time). If you have to choose between HTC Hero or Omnia 2 I8000 I would choose Hero any day..
