Guest eddyZ Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 I read an article on engadget i think (not 100% sure). they mentioned this phone had a fm transmitter? anyone find out how to use it?
Guest Jag12345 Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Yes, I'd like to know about this too!
Guest FLT Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 There's idd a FM transmitter/ receiver (but not used by Android)
Guest FLT Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Not yet, dno what the future will bring :)
Guest cezent Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 saw similar report, that there is a build in FM radio, as well as Nexus One capable of running 802.11n wifi. Neither feature is listed on the specification webpage...not sure if google did it on purppose so that to give us some "surprise" in thei future software updates. The typical under promise over delivery BS....
Guest markdotpeters5 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 It's just a feature of the chip, so the N1 is capable, but Google haven't implemented it. Just like 720p video capture. The iPhone 3Gs is also capable of FM transmission, but so sign of it.
Guest frauhottelmann Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Probably also to safe battery.
Guest Shuflie Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Probably also to safe battery. More likely to make it easier to sell into countries that have tighter controls over who transmits on FM bands.
Guest Tulius Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 More likely to make it easier to sell into countries that have tighter controls over who transmits on FM bands. That sounds "believable"...so they don't have to create the N1 A for Americas, B, For Brazil, S, for Singapore, E, for Europe excluding France and Spain and so on.... But it's strage that this is a very COMPLETE phone and doesn't have FM RADIO to LISTEN TO....
Guest maddiez Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 i think Google should at least release the source code of the drivers for these parts (FM Tx/Rx etc.) and additional features (802.11n, 720p recording etc.) it's understandable that some countries have strict control on the FM transmitting thing, but some don't, so the choice should be up to the users and, it will blow the other phones away if we have these features.. lol!!! :)

THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!! Nowadays recording D1 it's great, can't believe @ 720p!! I'm waiting for mine...it will arrive by the end of the next week to my country (Argentina).

Guest Casao Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Just like to point out that 802.11N IS enabled on the Nexus One, I've personally confirmed it by connecting to a 2.4ghz N-Only network with N speeds.

Don't really care much about 811 N, but would like to have the FM Radio. Do we have a solution?
