Guest blue-e Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I have just been playing with a friends DEXT and really like the integrated facebook/twitter functionality. Anyone know how big a job porting the blur interface is? Is there anything out there that would give me a similar sort of experience on my pulse? Dave
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 You could help me porting the Falsh Player from the HTC Hero :) Greetings, BigBearMDC

Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) Anything in particular you need doing? Thats the difficult part - I don't know. There are some files that have to be copied - but just copying them won't get the flash player to work. Also, there are 4 libs that are necessary for flash player to work, but 2 of them cause a boot stuck, and all of the 4 libs cause a crash in every GoogleApp (or maybe every app that uses a network connection? - I don't know) I'm so far now that i can have a look at the differences between the Pulse kernel and the Hero kernel (which i want to port the flash player from). If youre interested in that - Flash on T-Mobile Pulse?. EDIT: Maybe you would just have to copy the Launcher.apk? I'll pick up a DEXT ROM and copy the Launcher.apk. Stay Tuned! Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Do you mind uploading the launcher apk? Well i would if there was one :) I'll try another ROM. Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest xangma Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Well i would if there was one :) I'll try another ROM. Greetings, BigBearMDC Are you just using the launcher or flashing the whole rom?
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Are you just using the launcher or flashing the whole rom? whole ROM. Its faster :) I just downloaded a ROM for the DEXT now. I'll copy the Pulse's boot.img into that image and see what happens :)
Guest xangma Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 whole ROM. Its faster :) I just downloaded a ROM for the DEXT now. I'll copy the Pulse's boot.img into that image and see what happens :) Oh dear. Doubt it will boot tbh =[
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Oh dear. Doubt it will boot tbh =[ That would be a miracle - but who knows. I'll just try it
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Well I'll try something else. Theres a app called BlurHome. I'll just rename it to Launcher and see what happens.
Guest xangma Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Well I'll try something else. Theres a app called BlurHome. I'll just rename it to Launcher and see what happens. Wait, there's no Launcher.apk :)
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) Wait, there's no Launcher.apk huh.gif Yay but maybe it's just renamed... I renamed BlurHome to Launcher and copied it into the U8230 Vanilla ROM. Booting right at the moment... EDIT: Okay its booting. Even the buttons and the screen is responding (i can get to the lockscreen/ when i press the end key the display turns off) but i can't get past it. Its not a boot loop as he already booted up... seems like the BlurHome.apk just won't show up for some reason. I'll try to copy some further files to the ROM. Edited January 16, 2010 by BigBearMDC
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Okay none of the things i tried worked. I'm now applying my bart backup. I'll just try to install the BlurHome.apk. Stay Tuned! Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest blue-e Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I have just downloaded what appears to be a basic standard cliq rom (US DEXT). Wont have time to look at it for a day or 2 now though so any help is greatly appreciated. Dave
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Well installing the BlurHome.apk doesn't work either. If we could get the DEXT kernel source we could try to recompile it with the Pulse's drivers. But unfortunately i don't know how to compile a kernel :) Anyway i well see what i can do. I've downloaded a DEXT stock ROM too. Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest blue-e Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I have just been given this link on modmymoto for the DEXT kernel source code download Will have to look into all this, linux isnt something I have really spent much time with but I think its time to start learning Dave
