Guest Minus616 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Right I have just applied to the december update (Worked fine, reverted to T-mobile style). Now I am trying to install patched recovery image as seen here: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...on-your-device/ But anytime I put my phone into boot mode (Pressing Vol down and End call while starting the phone) it comes up with a Blue screen with: USB Fastboo: Vo.5 Machine ID: 100700 v0 Build Date: Nov 26 2009, 11:05:05 Serial number: UNKNOWN And then nothing. I open up "install-recovery-windows" but it simply says waiting for the device......so yeah, help? :)
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 If you're using Windows 7 look here. Have you installed the android sdk and is it working properly? Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest Minus616 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I am on XP. I have just downloaded the Android SDK, but I get this error with it: Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: HTTPS SSL error. You might want to force download through HTTP in the settings. So I can't download anything with it. However, I am completely new to stuff like this, I was expecting the update to be easy :)
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 You might want to force download through HTTP in the settings. Just do this and it will install :) A month ago i was completely new to this stuff too - you will learn it :) Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest Minus616 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Right done, got all the downloads, so now what? :)
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Try to connect your phone and look if adb recognizes it.
Guest starkos Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Can't remember if it's necessary, but just incase make sure you've got Settings/Applications/Development/USB Debugging ticked :)
Guest Minus616 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Pah nope, I get the windows wizard asking me to find the drivers for "T-Mobile Pulse 3G Phone" but can;t find them (tried looking on the cd and those I have dled from a separate site.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 The drivers you are looking for are in the PC Suite folder on your Hard Disk. Of course you'll have to install the PC Suite first :) Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Wait, here are the drivers for WinXP Greetings, BigBearMDCdriver.rar
Guest Minus616 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Right, that solves the driver problem, it no longer asks me for drivers! But still nowt in SDK if i'm reading it right, where is it meant to show up?
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 But still nowt in SDK if i'm reading it right, where is it meant to show up? The device does not show up on the SDK. Only those devices show up in the SDK that you created (virtually). So ADB should work now.
Guest Minus616 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) Right well, after following the stuff you have told me to do I'm guessing I can install the recovery rom now following this: - Download the recovery zip file and extract to a directory - Put your device in bootloader mode - turn if off, then tap the powerbutton while holding the 'Volume Down' and 'End (Red)' keys - WINDOWS - double click 'install-recovery-windows.bat' However, again the program can't find the device, unless I'm being dim and missing something... I also tried to install Superboot, but again : I put the phone into bootloader mode Access the file, and it says "Waiting for device" and nothing else........ Edited January 17, 2010 by Minus616
Guest Minus616 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Right I have been playing about with ADB using the command propmt, and it does see the device when its on, it comes up with List of devises ? Rather than when it's off/in boot mode List of the devises ......so, I take it thats a bad thing right? EDIT - Got it working, apparantly the driver wasn't installed right :) So, now what the heck do I do? :) Edited January 17, 2010 by Minus616
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 If your device gets recongnized, then youre ready to install to cutom recovery image. Just hit install-recovery-windows and it should work :) Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest Minus616 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Woo, got it working Thanks :) Only one small problem tho, when I slide the home screens left and hit the last one, If i try to slide again it says android process has stopped and needs to force close. How do you get rid of this problem? it doesn't happen on Panda Home! Oh and my network provider is "telefonica o2 uk Limited" :) Edited January 17, 2010 by Minus616

Guest Minus616 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Hm a wipe? As in factory reset or do you mean something else?
Guest BigBearMDC Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Yes, it's like a factory reset. Greetings, BigBearMDC
Guest Minus616 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Right, the factory reset solved the crashing problem :) The last thing is the network still shows as "Telefonica O2 UK Limited" I was just wondering why, and if there was a way to change it back?

Try setting language to English and rebooting the phone. It fixed my boyfriend's foreign menu problems! :)
