I'm on mcr 3.1 right now, and I've noticed that the stock HTC keyboard can't really keep up with my typing, and it starts to lag after a bit. Has anyone got any recommendations for keyboards that have less lag at high speeds (ive even turned off vibrate on keyboard, which improves it, but not enough)

Also, i have issues where the.spelling correction/typo assist stops checking the next word if I hit space and start typing the next word too soon :)

I'm open to paid apps, but would also love a better auto correct algorithm, as the stock one seems to struggle if you get more than 1 character incorrect, yet I've heard f other keyboards that are better. Typing this on my hero, and it still cant keep up with me with screen vertical and using only 1 finger. The lag and autocorrect ignoring some words is the biggest issue though. Any recommendations?

Ps. While I'm at it, a context sensitive correction algorithm would be good also, but that might be asking too much :). Would stop silly little niggles like it/or...

Don't know how lag free it is yet, but I just found one called ShapeWriter Beta on the market. I find it much easier to type with.

I'm using better keyboard, which is far from perfect (doesn't add new words to dictionary..), but still OK.

I tried shapewriter, but it seemed a bit laggy for me between words (as though it was doing loads of processing to convert my shapes into a word).

Does anyone else experience this problem? (added poll to thread)

I've heard a wipe usually fixes this, but I've wiped for 3.1.

I'll look at better keyboard.

I think the issue is that I do type really pretty fast (let's put it this way, I can rhyme off the order of all the keys on the keyboard since I was a kid!) So, I'm really looking forward to a 2.1 multitouch keyboard so one finger can be going down while the last was still coming up :)

Turning off the 'show ideal shape' option on shapewritter seems to make it a bit more responsive, but yeah it does lag a little when i type fast.

Still, i find it much faster to use than the standard keyboard, which lagged a little too.

Swypes in beta, iv got a version but's not for are screen resolution :)
