could anyone advise why operamini will not download on my pulse.Also is this the best browser for pulse.thanks in advance :)

Get opera mini from the Market, not from the website. The reason why is that Android indeed does not use the same version of Java that any other phone uses.

It's really not worth using tbh, it loads faster but the android interface is terrible.

If you use the java application that is built into paul's custom roms for the pulse, you can install opera mini 5 beta 2 through it - which is much better in my opinion.

You can get the beta from here, by visiting it with your phone:

"m.opera.com/next"

Tried this. But I only can open it in Java. Also it doesnt stack actions. Pressing the back button takes you back to the java application. Annoying too :)

Yes, that's true. If you want, you can use another app on the market - I think its called Javarunner, which adds shortcuts for j2me apps to the homescreen drawer/apps list - but i think the compatibility rate isn't as high.
