Installing Amon RA?

Hi, I just wanted to know whether I can install Amon RA recovery using flashrec on my Hero? I can't use command prompt but have heard that its pretty easy to do if the existing regular firmware is an early edition (I think mine is 1.73...something). I did have a custom ROM installed by a tech-savvy friend, but I had to have the phone replaced.

depends, the new G2s (t-mobile branded) have annoying ROMs which sometimes dont allow goldcard or flashrec. you will have to try =\ i'd advise the goldcard method if flashrec 1.1.3 or 1.1.2 dont work for you.
