LOL. 6.5 Maybe, good luck with that. 7 is based on a new core so try as you might...i9x0 can't won't support it.

Also, any 6.5 ROM that Samsung release will be inferior to the ROMs here (IMO)

I live in Australia and we never even got an upgrade for 6.1...ever! thats why I started using custom roms so I wouldnt even bother asking for 6.5 plus Samsung would give you the usual crap rom loaded with everything under the sun that you dont need.

Im happier with the custom roms as you have sooooo many to choose from with only the basic stuff you need and theyre all the latest builds unlike the old stuff Samsung puts out.

As for windows 7........forget it! The i900 is ancient technology dude.

all we want from samsung is only samsung mouse driver. else modaco's rom cooker knows better that wat to server then samsung's ......

samsung will not even see that forum. i can sure.

all they wanted is just launch launch the phones. forget the olderone.....

may be they even forgot the samsung omnia's model number,os,memory,cpu

i would be happy with a 6.5 rom from samsung, anything without all these custom bugged roms.

But you don't have much of a chance getting WM6.5 upgrade. Definitely NO chance of a WM7 upgrade.

The update feature on a the standard WM6.1 ROM does not even work, there is no possibility of Samsung EVER getting this out.

To be honest, it would probably mess up (if not brick) most of the current i9*0 handsets out there.

You are better off using the custom ones provided here. They are better on the whole; they are app rich, features rich, generally stable and updated every week if not less. Samsung/M$ would NEVER provide that type of service.

I gotta agree with everyone else. Its a waste of time trying to get samsung to release those updates. You also have to figure what kind of extra licensing, programming, etc will have to go into releasing a 6.5 release for an phone thats a year old. From a business aspect its a waste of time, and there focusing on new phones because the rate of technology turnover is so high now. Just use a cooked rom, most of these cooks have been working with 6.5 for awhile and know how to produce a stable rom. I've been using 6.5 since this summer in various forms, such as the beta, actual 6.5, and 6.5.x, and I've never had a serious problem, ever

and thats the difference to iphone, at least apple dont throw a new device every month expecting users to buy a new one just to get a software update.

I might be mistaken but don't the original iPhones not support the newest OS upgrades, and older iPhones become more laggy with the newest updates? Its a small computer and even an Apple product will get left in the dust, its the same for every computer/phone, no matter what brand.

Anyway as far as what I've heard the first spec phones running WinMo 7 will have 1 ghz snapdragon processors and 1 gb of ram. If thats the kind of power needed to run 7 then its not going to work on our device, and if it does it'll be seriously laggy.
