Unable to close the Browser properly

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy running on stock ROM. When I use my browser on GPRS/EDGE I am unable to open any webpages, because I would have force-closed it earlier (using the TasKiller app). If I clear the cache+history+cookies, the problem is solved and I can open the webpages.

Is there a method of properly closing the browser so that I need to clear everything every time I open the browser?? Or is there another browser in the Android Market with this functionality already present??

P.S: I do not encounter this issue when I browse on Wi-Fi.
